U4GM Arc Raiders: How to Master Rascal Utility

The Rascal is easy to misunderstand because it looks louder than it really plays. A lot of new raiders treat it like a pocket grenade launcher, then get caught reloading in the worst possible spot. That's usually how the lesson arrives. The weapon is better seen as a problem-solver, not a main damage tool. It gives you a hard opening shot when an armored ARC unit is pushing too close, or when an extraction turns ugly and you need a second to breathe. If you're also trying to keep space for ammo, materials, loot, and ARC Raiders BluePrints, that kind of compact utility starts to matter a lot.

Use it to change the fight

The Rascal works best when it changes the pace of a fight. You're not trying to win the whole encounter with one shell. You're trying to crack pressure. Hit a tougher ARC enemy, force it to stagger or slow down, then finish the work with your rifle. That's where the weapon feels good. Against heavy machines, it can save you from dumping half your ammo supply into armor. Against rival raiders, it can make them back off a doorway or stop a greedy push. It's not magic, though. If you fire it just because something moved, you'll regret it later.

Fire, move, swap

The cleanest rhythm is simple: shoot, break line of sight, switch weapons. Don't stand there waiting to see how pretty the blast looked. The Rascal only gives you one explosive round before the reload, and that reload is where people get punished. Step behind cover first. A wall, a truck, a stairwell, anything that buys a second. Then pull out your assault rifle or SMG and keep working the angle. It feels a bit awkward at first, especially if you're used to faster weapons, but it stops you from turning into a free target in the open.

Why solo players like it

Solo runs make the Rascal more valuable than it looks on paper. You don't have a teammate drawing fire while you reload, so every item in your kit has to earn its place. A big launcher may sound great, but it often eats into the mobility and storage you need for a proper raid. The Rascal fits better with a lean setup. Pair it with a medium-range rifle if you want steady follow-up shots, or an SMG if you're moving through buildings and tight alleys. Light armor also makes sense. After firing, you want to be gone before enemies decide where you are.

Save the shot for the moment that matters

The biggest mistake is wasting the Rascal on weak targets. It's tempting when smaller enemies group up or when panic kicks in, but that explosive round is a limited tool. Save it for armored ARC units, blocked exits, extraction defense, or a player squad pushing too confidently. Reload only after you've checked your cover and listened for footsteps. Good Rascal play isn't about showing off. It's about leaving with the haul, keeping your ammo count healthy, and making smarter choices with your stash, whether you farm your own gear or choose to buy ARC Raiders BluePrints to support your crafting plans before the next raid.
